My Aged Care: Home Care Packages

If you want to stay in your own home as you get older, but need some help with things like cleaning and preparing meals, or with transport so you can go shopping or attend appointments, a Home Care Package may help you.

Ask yourself these questions:

  • am I an older person who needs some help to stay in my own home?
  • am I finding some aspects of living at home hard?
  • do I manage most of the time?
  • am I a younger person with a disability, dementia or other special care needs that are not met through specialist services?
  • do you think if you don’t get some help at home, you might have to go into an aged care home before you’re ready?

If you answer ‘yes’ to any of these questions, then you may be eligible for a Home Care Package.

Australian Charter of Healthcare Rights

Australian Charter of Healthcare Rights (brochure)

The Australian Charter of Healthcare Rights was developed by the Commission in 2007 and 2008. The charter was developed with extensive and widespread consultation and specifies the key rights of patients and consumers when seeking or receiving healthcare services. In July 2008, Australian Health Ministers endorsed the charter as the Australian Charter of Healthcare Rights for use across the country.

The Charter applies to all health settings anywhere in Australia, including public hospitals, private hospitals, general practice and other community environments. It allows patients, consumers, families, carers and service providers to have a common understanding of the rights of people receiving health care.

Heathcote Health has adopted the Australian Charter of Healthcare Rights and encourages all consumers to familiarise themselves with the principles in the charter. Please click on above link to view the Charter Brochure or contact us on 5431 0900 to request a copy.
