The COVID-19 tracking app, known as COVIDSAFE, has been launched by the Federal Government, this is an important component of maintaining the low rate of infections in Australia.

The app allows rapid and accurate contact tracing for people who have a risk of transmission from someone who tested positive. Heathcote Health encourages you all to download it from your relevant app store. Click here

The Victorian Government has announced a testing blitz during the next two weeks with the aim of testing 100 000 people.  They are asking that anyone with even mild symptoms be tested.  If you think you should be tested please go to the Bendigo Health testing clinic, this allows us to get your results quickly and for any positive tests ensures a rapid follow up of any people you may have been in contact with. One of our Board Directors, Ann Lansberry, has been able to arrange for 10 iPads from the Discovery Centre in Bendigo to be loaned to Heathcote Health for use in our residential aged care facilities.  These iPads will enable our residents to connect electronically with friends, family, our volunteers and other community members.  A number of apps have been installed on the iPads which will be used to keep our residents entertained and connected.  Our heartfelt thanks go to Ann and the Discovery Centre in Bendigo for making this possible.

“Whilst we are physical distancing maintaining our connections with others is more important than ever.  Since our doors are shut Discovery Centre is delighted to loan our spare iPads to Heathcote Health residents to help them stay connected.”
