The second very successful Heathcote Community Games event was held in and by the Community of Heathcote, between Friday 19th February and Sunday 28th February.
Over 1800 participants took part in this year’s games, and they included an Opening Ceremony, A Fun Run, A School District Sports Clinic, School Skateboard Workshops, Wheel chairs basketball, Swim Carnival, Arts & Crafts activities, Cooking, Gardening, BMX and Skateboard Demos and tries, Classic Cars Show, Hospital Bed Race, Motorised Scooter Race, Old Womans Race, Kids world of games and exercise machines, a Health and Wellbeing Zone, A Community Parade, Loads of entertainment and a RIO St Party, just to name a few.
Heathcote Community Games are community owed and lead events. This year we also welcomed special overseas guests that run a community games in England -The Sutton Coldfield Community Games.
This year also saw last year’s organisers idea of a Heathcote Community Games song come together with an amazing job being undertaken by some talented parents and children.
